For as long as I can remember I've been writing poetry.  It is my way of expressing myself.  Growing up I constantly struggled with my own self image.  I was not that good in sports, I was not very popular in school and never dated much.  So that left me time to put my feelings down on paper.  It was my way of expressing my emotions.  I used to write when I was sad and depressed which was most of the time.  But over time God began to show me He created me in His image and I'm precious in His sight.  I have grown so much spiritually over the last few years. I've experienced what Job went through, then like Elijah I ran and hid in a cave.  It was in those caves I would experience the still small voice of God.  Over the past few years I have come to realize no matter what people think of me or what I think of myself for that matter, I am a child of the King.  I've come to realize that most of the time I am my own worst enemy.  But God is slowly pulling back the layers of years of hurt and disappointments and showing me He loves me unconditionally and He is the only one I need to please.  These poems are true stories.  God always puts me in character when I write.  It is my prayer that as you read these words of the Father dictated to me that you would allow Him to use these poems to bless and encourage you.  So sit back and relax and let the Holy Spirit make Himself known to you as you read these words from the Heartstrings Of God.
