Everytime someone says Happy Holidays

I wonder if they stop and think of the meaning of that phrase

On behalf of thousands of those who daily strive

And wonder when they wake up why they are still alive

From Thanksgiving to Christmas and into the new year

So many people take their lives to end the fear & pain

Many are living on the edge trying hard to cope

But so many just give up as they feel there is no hope

Lord please forgive us for our insensitivity

Make us more aware Lord let us clearly see

That there are those among us who struggle every day

Let us be a light in darkness and show them you're the way
